Thore Husfeldt joins the esteemed EATCS council
BARC Core Researcher, Prof. Thore Husfeldt, joins the council of the European Association of Theoretical Computer Science (EATCS) as of November 2017.
The EATCS is an international organization founded in 1972. Its aim is to facilitate the exchange of ideas and results among theoretical computer scientists as well as to stimulate cooperation between the theoretical and the practical community in computer science. The major activities of EATCS include organisation of EATCS’s flagship conference ICALP, The International Colloquium on Automata, Languages and Programming, and the sponsoring and co-sponsoring of several scientific awards, including the Gödel Prize.
Thore’s main focus is to investigate possibilities to further increase the scientific quality of ICALP. He has previously served as the conference’s General Chair, member of the Programme Committee, keynote speaker, and received the best paper award.
