New PhD in for a fine start with 2 accepted papers at ICALP

Anders Aamand joined BARC as a PhD student in September 2017 and has already begun his publishing career.

At this years ICALP conference (International Colloquium on Automata, Languages and Programming) young BARC PhD student will debut with no less that two accepted papers, one of which is based on his master thesis.

The submitted papers are a result of collaboration with fellow BARC researchers Mikkel Thorup and Jacob Holm, as well as other researchers affiliated with BARC:

“Power of d Choices with Simple Tabulation” by Anders Aamand, Mathias Bæk Tejs Knudsen and Mikkel Thorup (Based on Anders’ master thesis)

“One-Way Trail Orientations” by Anders Aamand, Niklas Hjuler, Jacob Holm and Eva Rotenberg

When Anders Aamand joined BARC September 1st 2017, he had just completed his Master in mathematics from Copenhagen University with a burning interest for combinatorics and graph theory before he changed paths into the field of Computer Science.

It was a lot of hard work and a very enlightening process to prepare these two papers and I am really excited that they were both accepted, says Anders and looks forward to participating in ICALP in Prague this June. In total BARC has three accepted papers at ICALP '18.

BARC supports young talents and is confident we will see more exciting publications from Anders Aamand in the future.
