Mikkel Vind AbrahamsenAbstract

This project focuses on solving packing problems, where objects need to be efficiently arranged in limited spaces. While much research has explored packing regular shapes like boxes, less attention has been given to irregular objects. Our goal is to develop new strategies for packing these complex shapes effectively.

Efficient packing is crucial in industries like storage, manufacturing, and 3D printing, where optimizing space can save resources, reduce waste, and increase productivity. Since irregular objects are common in many real-world scenarios, understanding how to pack them better will have wide-reaching benefits.

We aim to build a strong theoretical foundation for packing irregular shapes and create cutting-edge algorithms that offer provable guarantees for performance. By bridging this research gap, we hope to develop tools that can be applied in various industries to solve practical space-optimization challenges.
