BARC welcomes PhD student Jonas Klausen to the team.

Jonas KlausenBARC welcomes new PhD student Jonas Klausen who joins the team on September 1, 2020. Jonas will work on fundamental algorithmic research as part of the BARC center where he will be supervised by professor Mikkel Thorup. Jonas did his bachelor's thesis on the minimum k-way cut problem, where we wish to find a way of cutting up a graph into a number of disconnected components by removing a minimal set of edges. He will continue the work on this problem but also explore other problems related to efficient algorithms and data structures.

Jonas obtained his bachelor's degree in Computer Science from DIKU in 2019 and is currently enrolled in the master's program. He will thus have to complete the remaining elements of the master's program during the first years of his PhD studies. When not designing algorithms, Jonas enjoys listening to music and drinking weird beers – preferably in the sun.
