BARC welcomes Manon Blanc

Staff News

BARC welcomes new Postdoc Manon Blanc to the team.

Manon Blanc joined the BARC team at ITU on July 1, 2025 as a Postdoc working with Nutan Limaye.

Manon did her first two years of higher education in Bordeaux, then she moved to Paris' region to study at École Normale Supérieure (ENS) Cachan, renamed ENS Paris-Saclay later. There she completed her bachelor and master degree in theoretical computer science. Manon obtained her PhD between École Polytechnique and Université Paris-Saclay under the supervision of Olivier Bournez and Nathalie Aubrun. Her main topic of research is complexity theory,  mostly over the reals, but she has also worked on computability theory and tilings during her PhD.

On a personal level, Manon grew up in Angoulême (roughly 100 km north of Bordeaux), known for the International Comics Festival. She likes to play music both on guitar and bass and just needs to learn the drums now, so she can be a whole rock band on her own. Manon also enjoys going to music festivals, and doing sports. She swims, dances and bikes, and from time to time enjoys climbing as well as hiking. Other hobbies include knitting, crocheting and she holds a love for learning languages (including Danish, selvfølgelig).

A big welcome to Manon!
