BARC welcomes Filip Úradník

Staff News

BARC welcomes new PhD student Filip Úradník to the team.

Filip Úradník joined the BARC team on September 1, 2026 as a PhD student under the supervision of Mikkel Thorup.

Filip got both his BSc and MSc in Theoretical Computer Science at Charles University in Prague, Czechia. He spent one semester of his master's in Copenhagen via the Erasmus exchange program. Throughout his studies, Filip got to try research in various areas, including complexity, cooperative game theory, and reinforcement learning. Now, he is interested mainly in graph theory and parameterized algorithms. His master thesis concerned efficiently finding the maximum flow in a network with random capacities and bounded treewidth and he is excited to explore new problems.

In his spare time, Filip likes running, playing volleyball, working on various little programming projects, and going for the occasional beer with friends. He also enjoys trying new things, so feel free to involve him whenever you're trying something out!
